Director, U360

It’s September, which means it’s time to kick off the new school year and welcome the U360 Class of 2022! Launched in 2016, the U360 Business Sustainability Internship is designed to train the next generation of change-makers and prepare them to tackle climate change and other complex challenges facing our world today.

“U360 is developing the sustainability leaders of tomorrow,” says Molly Jacobs, VP of Environmental Education and Outreach. “We believe that giving college students and small businesses practical strategies for reducing environmental impact can lead to increased stewardship, which can last a lifetime. Students will leave the internship equipped with the tools they need to apply sustainability concepts in the real world, which we need now more than ever.”

Now 100% virtual, U360 is a two-semester experiential education and professional development internship for college students to learn soft skills, environmental science, and sustainability concepts. During their internship, each student leads 20-30 small business owners through Manomet’s assessment of their environmental, social, and governance practices. They then create an action plan for one business offering ideas on how they can reduce their environmental impact while also making money, saving money, and reducing risks.
