Hi Neighbor! Welcome!

If you are new to the neighborhood, we want to introduce ourselves – and, if you’re a longstanding neighbor, then we may have already met!

Over 50 years ago, we began as a bird banding lab right here on the Manomet bluff. Our banding lab continues to operate and teach classes for local schools, but our scope has grown. Our goals: to reverse the decline of shorebirds, promote coastal resiliency, and to educate the next generation of conservationists with our teams across the Western Hemisphere. But, closer to home, we have a 40-acre campus, and we welcome you to explore it.

We’re a nonprofit organization and we’re hoping to expand our community – and we welcome you to join us – either online or in person.

Manomet is committed to understanding these issues and working toward maintaining and restoring resilient habitats to benefit wildlife and people. We have an ambitious goal of implementing improvements on 500,000 acres of priority habitats throughout the Americas.

Join our flock

Join the Manomet Conservation Sciences community (what we are calling “our flock” because bird puns are just fun!) today. We send out monthly emails about our work both locally and farther from home, and include upcoming events, volunteer opportunities and how you can help. Sign up today!

Come exploring – in person!

Take a walk on the Kathleen (Betty) Anderson Nature Trail. Open from dawn to dusk, the trail provides interpretive signs to help you learn more about the nature around you. The property is great for bird watching and viewing other wildlife. Learn more.

Next to our headquarters building, take a tranquil walk around our Garden for Wildlife and Japanese tea house, and then take in the spectacular view of Cape Cod Bay. Learn more.

Whether you are a “bird curious” beginner or an expert, we welcome you to join us for bird walks led by Evan Dalton, Director of Manomet Observatory, every first Friday of the month. Upcoming bird walk.

Enjoy family-friendly events all summer long like our Night Owl Nature Walk or Family Fun & Explorations. Upcoming events.

Learn about our research by attending a science program at the Trevor Lloyd-Evans Bird Banding Lab at the Manomet Observatory. (The banding lab is truly a unique place and participating in a program here is a not-to-be-missed experience.) Look for upcoming programs by receiving our e-news or following us on social media.

Get involved

Here at Manomet Conservation Sciences, we believe in getting our hands a little dirty to have our science and collaboration make real-world changes. Our events, volunteer opportunities, and webinars are designed to empower you to create real-world change of your own.
