Are you in Eastern Massachusetts and looking to brush up on your bird identification skills? Maybe you’re intrigued by birding and want to get out there and bird for the first time?

On May 29, Manomet Conservation Specialist Brad Winn will hold a shorebird identification workshop in Norwell, MA.

On June 1st, Winn will lead a birding field trip from our headquarters office in Plymouth. Participants will be able to practice what they have learned in the workshop and hone their skills in the field.

Winn works in Manomet’s Shorebird Recovery Project and will spend this summer studying breeding shorebirds in the Canadian Arctic. He is also part of a collaborative Whimbrel tracking project that recently discovered a migratory connection for the species between Brazil and the western Gulf of Mexico.

Brad delivers workshops for state and federal land managers on how to manage their land for shorebirds. Last year, he gave two shorebird identification workshops at Manomet Center headquarters. Both events were standing room only.

Details and registration information for this year’s events are at http://www.manomet.org/events/conferences/shorebird-identification-and-e….
