Kathy Renfrew

As an Education Specialist at the Wade Institute for Science Education at Manomet Conservation Sciences, Kathy brings deep expertise in K–5 science education to Manomet Conservation Sciences, with a special focus on connecting science and literacy in meaningful, accessible ways. She holds a M.S. in K–8 Science Education from Vermont State University and has worn many hats throughout her career—as an elementary teacher, state science supervisor, coach, and Education Specialist with the Wade Institute.

With extensive training in adult learning theory and instructional coaching, Kathy excels at leading professional learning experiences that resonate with educators. She’s especially passionate about ensuring that young students receive high-quality science instruction that also fosters their growth as thoughtful citizens and land stewards.

At Manomet, Kathy is excited to support the organization’s mission by learning more about bird migration and helping teachers and students discover ways for people and ecosystems to thrive together. When she’s not working, Kathy enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, watching birds at her feeders, diving into murder mysteries on BritBox, or reading on her Kindle.
