Get ready to uncover the amazing world of insects—closer than you ever imagined! Led by Plymouth County Entomologist & Extension Educator Blake Dinius, kids will venture outdoors to discover the tiny creatures living right outside their doors. Through hands-on exploration, participants will learn why these small but mighty insects play such a big role in our world.

The adventure doesn’t stop there! Kids will also dive into the surprising topic of edible insects. Through fun discussion and curiosity-driven learning, we’ll explore insects as a sustainable food source, discover cultures around the world that already include insects in their diets, and talk about why eating bugs can feel strange to us. Together, we’ll imagine what the future might look like—and whether bugs could be on the menu one day!

This engaging, hands-on program encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and a whole new appreciation for the smallest creatures around us—proving that even backyard bugs can have a big impact!
