Manomet Widewater Society
Help leave behind a better world for future generations.
With your bequest or planned gift, you help Manomet provide good science and partnerships—partnerships developed through civil conversation and shared values. Using these together, Manomet can create models for sustainable solutions to the planet’s most pressing issues: climate change, alternative energy, clean water, sustainable food and species loss.
The Widewater Society is a group of individuals who have pledged (in writing or orally) to give Manomet future support through bequests or other deferred gifts. It was started in 2003, named after the house on the bluff (“Widewater”), generously donated by the Ernst family, where Manomet is still headquartered. Making a bequest or planned gift to Manomet provides an opportunity to ensure that your commitment to sustainability will be continued.
Is Manomet already in your will? We’d like to know. When you include Manomet in your estate plans or make a life income gift, you become a member of the Widewater Society.
Giving for the Future
Make a Bequest to Manomet
For many donors, a bequest is a statement of the values they have cherished most during their lifetimes. If you have already done your estate planning, you can add a bequest with a simple codicil to an existing will. Manomet’s counsel has approved the following language for bequests:
I give and bequeath to Manomet, Inc. of Manomet, Massachusetts the sum of ($________for its general charitable purposes; or I give (____%) of my residuary estate to Manomet, Inc of Manomet, Massachusetts, for its general purposes.
There are many other ways to make a deferred gift: charitable remainder trusts, charitable lead trusts and life insurance or pensions plans. Please consult with your financial advisor about whether these types of planned gifts help with your estate planning.
You will be recognized as a member of the Widewater Society in the Annual Report.
Please consult your own attorney or estate planner to find what is best for you. For more information, contact Steve Fulmer at 508-224-6521 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
