For 50 years, Manomet has been working to build a more sustainable world—for birds, for people, and for our planet. Join us in Boston on July 23, 2020, for A Planet of Hope: Birds Connect Us to celebrate these amazing creatures and the many people and organizations working to protect their diverse habitats, connect people to nature, and create a world where birds and people can thrive.

Recent data show that North American bird populations have declined by nearly 3 billion birds since 1970—a loss of almost 30 percent. Manomet’s scientists believe that to save the birds we love, as well as nature and our way of life, we need to apply science to protect critical habitats while also engaging the larger forces that are shaping the world around us.

Right now, the birds are telling us about the health of our forests and other ecosystems, including our food system, and are showing us how climate change is threatening our biodiversity. Manomet is working with hundreds of partners, companies, and individuals in the agriculture, timber, fisheries, and other sectors to make a more sustainable world for the birds—and us.

At A Planet of Hope: Birds Connect Us, you’ll enjoy delicious, sustainable food and drink from the region’s best restaurants and have the opportunity to meet with Manomet’s scientists and staff. A little hope can go a long way…
