Emily Renaud

Communications Coordinator

Emily joined Manomet in April 2016 as a Banding Intern, then returned in August for the fall banding season. In December 2016, she transitioned to our Communications Department as an intern, and then officially become part of the Manomet staff as Communications Coordinator in February 2017.

Previously, Emily worked for the Saltmarsh Habitat and Avian Research Program (SHARP) as an Avian Point Count Technician in Rhode Island during the spring and summer of 2015. In this role, she travelled around the state and conducted point count surveys for birds using saltmarsh habitats from May through July.

During her time at the University of Rhode Island, where she studied for her Bachelor’s in Wildlife and Conservation Biology, she received a fellowship grant to assist in the management of URI’s urban agriculture initiatives in Roger Williams Park in Providence, RI. She helped market, educate, and foster outreach and engagement for various programs and workshops designed to promote the Community and Edible Forest Gardens in the park. She also has extensive experience in environmental education and youth engagement.

In her free time, Emily enjoys birding and spending as much time outdoors as possible, making art, listening to and playing music, and spending time with friends and family.
