Endowment: The Fund for Conservation Sciences
Manomet has several endowments which fund intern training, bird conservation, overall program support and capital needs.
Manomet’s most recent endowment drive is called the Fund for Conservation Sciences. Manomet has initiated a number of significant science and conservation programs over the last 30 years, which have changed public policy and protected critical habitats across the hemisphere. In February of 2000, the Manomet Board of Trustees voted unanimously to create the new $14 million endowment to address recruiting and retaining program directors who can meet the unusual demands of Manomet’s mission. Program directors, all of whom are research scientists, are responsible for field research, technical services, scientific publications, community partnerships and project fundraising. A huge task!
Today, over $11.5 million of the goal has been raised. With only $2.5 million left to raise, we are counting on people with a commitment to the distinctive brand of conservation science Manomet practices to shape a sustainable world for all life in this emerging century. Within the new endowment are several naming opportunities for Fellowships, Sponsorships and Programs.
If you would like more information about the different endowment opportunities or about making a gift to the Fund for Conservation Sciences, please call Sue Chamberlain at (508) 224-6521 or email at schamberlain@manomet.org.
