Manomet’s shorebird workshops teach targeted land administrators in the U.S. to manage their sites in a manner that can benefit shorebirds while not detracting from their overall mission.
Millions of acres across the United States are managed for wildlife, and International Shorebird Survey data show that these areas are critical for migrating shorebirds. At most wildlife areas, however, managers do not achieve the full benefit for migratory shorebirds.
Manomet scientists will conduct workshops throughout the Gulf Coast in 2012 and 2013, and then extend the workshop series nationwide.
