Manomet’s Red Knot recovery project has set a population goal of 60,000 by 2020. Manomet scientists and staff work on:
1) Improving conditions in the Delaware Bay for shorebirds by increasing horseshoe crab numbers and egg availability;
2) Reducing threats across the range including disturbance and hunting;
3) Building the science foundation for knot recovery; and
4) Collecting and publishing data for the previously accepted metrics toward recovery.
