Manomet is helping communities adapt to climate change by increasing the resiliency of their urban and community forests to impacts of weather and invasive species. Many important climate change adaptation decisions are made at the local level and this collaboration will help communities adapt to climate change.
The project will also pilot the novel use of forest carbon offsets as a tool to support urban and community forests and help pay for climate change adaptation. Manomet personnel will implement forest adaptation plans for the City of Bath and nearby communities.
